Blizzard on the Way for New York City, Long Island and New Jersey....Boston and Coastal New England Will See Major Impacts....Blizzard Warning for NYC Sunday and Monday
A powerful "bomb" cyclone will rapidly strengthen off the coast of NC and DE on Sunday. A Blizzard Warning is in effect for Sunday and Monday along the coast and for all of New York City and Long Island for 1 to 2 feet of snow, strong northeast winds gusting to over 60 mph and moderate coastal flooding. The visibility will be near zero at times with blowing and drifting snow. This is the biggest snowstorm to hit the NYC metro area since the January 31-February 3, 2021 storm when 17.4 inches of snow fell in Central Park. Winds could gust to 75 mph along the coast on Sunday night and Monday morning. Cold weather will be back through Wednesday with a chance of light snow Wednesday evening. Milder weather will arrive later in the week.
