Arctic air has now plunged into the Northeast with the coldest air of the season for New York City with lows in the single digits and wind chills below zero on this morning of Super Bowl Sunday. At 7 AM today, some of the temperatures and wind chills reported in the region are as follows:
Central Park, +3F, Wind Chill -16F
Newark Airport, +5, Wind Chill -16F
JFK Airport, +3F, Wind Chill -17F
Montauk, +6F, Wind Chill -13F
Scranton -2F, Wind Chill -15F
Albany -5F, Wind Chill -25F
The weather will moderate a little this week with afternoon highs in the mid 30s by Wednesday. No major snowfall expected, only some rain and snow early on Tuesday and a chance of snow changing to rain this Sunday. Enjoy the game.
