Arctic Cold Front Bringing Snow Squalls to the Tri-State Region for the First Day of 2026...
An Arctic front and an intense upper-level trough have combined to produce snow squalls during the early morning across the NYC metro area. As of 7 a.m., the NWS Snow Squall Warning continues for eastern Long Island and portions of the Jersey Shore. Up to one inch of snow will fall that will produce slick roadways this morning. The sky will clear with sunshine later today with temperatures several degrees below normal with highs in the 20s and 30s. No precipitation is expected for the City through next weekend.
