Very Cold with Near or Record Breaking Temperatures Tonight, Heavy Rain and Snow for the Northeast Tuesday and Wednesday
Arctic air has plunged temperatures into the 20s and teens across the entire New York City area tonight with near record or record lows expected Monday morning. Highs today were only in the 20s in most areas today with a large brush fire reported in Old Bridge Township in New Jersey. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for Monday. A storm that produced as much as 40 inches of snow in the southern Rockies has spread snow, sleet and freezing rain eastward. Up to a foot of snow fell outside of Oklahoma City. This storm will redevelop across the Gulf of Mexico and will spread 2 to 5 inches of rain across the Southeast and coastal sections of the Northeast Tuesday night and Wednesday. Up to a foot of snow will fall across interior New England. Thanksgiving will be sunny, windy and cold in and around the New York City metropolitan area.
