More Smoke for the NE and the Great Lakes Today, Severe Thunderstorms with Flash Flooding Possible for NYC Metro Today...

The warm, humid, smokey conditions continue this morning in the city.  Radar shows an area of thunderstorms with heavy downpours moving in across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  The rain is expected to produce flash flooding in some areas with over one inch of rainfall expected.  The smoke will be decreased by the rain today and tonight. The visibility was reduced to 1.5 miles in smoke late Thursday afternoon at Newark Airport.  The photos below show the smoke in the area of the Meadowlands in New Jersey.  Sunny weather with lower humidity and minimal smoke is expected tomorrow for the World Cup Final at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. Stay cool
