Major Winter Storm Expected to Produce Over a Foot of Snow in the Northeast Monday Night Into Wednesday...
With Spring only a week away, the strongest winter storm of the season is forecast to impact the New York City metropolitan area with heavy snow and strong winds gusting to 60 mph. A Blizzard Watch is in effect for the city, coastal Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and Long Island. There is some disagreement with the models, tonight's runs and Monday morning's runs will provide a clearer picture on the amount of snow that falls. Currently there is the potential for more than a foot of snow across most of the New York City metropolitan area with the possibility of some mixing for a short period of time along the coast especially over eastern Long Island. Cold air will remain in the Northeast for the rest of the week. Some moderation will occur early next week with another shot of cold air later in the week.
