Up to 3 to 7 Inches of Snow Expected on Friday Morning for the New York City Metro Area...Cold This Weekend, Potential Snowstorm for Tuesday...
Cold, Arctic air will invade the Northeast overnight as milder temperatures give way to snow and cold on Friday morning. Latest models indicate that rain will change to snow overnight with periods of snow through early Friday afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for New York City and the suburbs to the north and west including Long Island for up to 3 to 5 inches of snow. A Winter Storm Warning is effect for far eastern Long Island for up to 4 to 7 inches of snow. Cold air will remain through the weekend into early next week. Models are forecasting a coastal storm for Monday night into Tuesday that is forecast to produce more snow.
