Hot in the West, Flooding Rains in the East...

An unseasonable high amplitude jetstream pattern is present across the nation on this Fourth of July. The weather continues to be hot in the West and wet in the East. During this past heat wave, the highest temperatures recorded that were also daily record highs included 129 degrees at Death Valley, CA, 117 in Las Vegas, NV and 118 in Yuma, AZ. More than 14" of rain was recorded through 2 AM this morning in Panama City Florida.
