Low pressure circulating across the Northeast produced very cool weather and showers with snow in the mountains of northern New England and New York State. Snowfall totals today in Vermont included:

Jay Peak: 4.5"
Troy (950' elev.): 2.0"
It was very cold today along the beaches in the New York Tri-State area with empty beaches due to winds gusting to 40 mph and temperatures warming to only 48 degrees in Islip, NY, 57 in Newark, NJ and 50 in Bridgeport, CT. As much as 15" of rain fell today in the San Antonio, Texas area that killed two people and required more than 200 people to be rescued.
