Major Storm to Produce Snow and Strong Winds in the Northeast on Monday and Tuesday...
A major snowstorm is going to affect the Northeast on Monday and Tuesday. Winter Storm Warnings and Watches are in effect for the entire New York metro area for 6 to 12 inches of snow. Washington, DC is forecast to receive up to 10 inches. Low pressure over the Ohio Valley will produce snow on Sunday. A secondary low will form off the Mid-Atlantic coast and will slowly track northeast. A blocking area of high pressure over the Canadian Maritime will keep the storm from moving quickly northeastward. As a result, the storm is forecast to produce snowfall for more than 24 hours in the New York City metro area. The snow is forecast to end in the afternoon on Tuesday.
