Heavy Snow for the Northeast on the First Full Day of Spring...

Low pressure strengthening off the coast of Virginia will drift slowly northeast through Thursday morning.  The fourth Nor'easter of the month is expected to produce a foot or more of snow in many locations. The heaviest snow will fall later this afternoon and this evening.  If more than 11.8 inches of snow falls in Central Park, this will be the heaviest spring snowfall on record. The previous record for Spring snowfall in Central Park occurred in 1958.  Cold weather is forecast through the weekend and the next two weeks should be below normal in the Northeast with once more chance of some snow.
