Powerful Storm to Affect Coastal Sections of the Northeast....Blizzard Conditions and Heavy Snow for Cape Cod
For the past week, models have consistently indicated that a very strong will form off the coast of the Southeast and then track northeastward to a position southeast of lat./long. 40/70. As a result, the heaviest snow will fall over Nantucket and Cape Cod with blizzard conditions expected tonight. A Blizzard Warning has been issued for blinding snow, drifting and wind gusts to 60 mph. The storm will pound the Canadian maritimes late tonight and Wednesday. Two to 4 inches of snow is forecast for Long Island, Southern New Jersey with less than 1 inch for New York City.
