Icy conditions are now present in and around the city this morning with below freezing temperatures. At 11:00 a.m., the temperature is 30 degrees in Central Park.  Freezing rain is being reported at all local weather stations at this time.  There is a mix of snow and freezing rain just to the north of the city across northern New Jersey, the Lower Hudson Valley and Connecticut.  The precipitation is forecast to change back to snow this afternoon as the storm moves away and brings down colder air in its wake.  A flash freeze is likely today with temperatures tonight plunging into the teens.  A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 6 pm tonight for the city and the northern and western suburbs.  The weather will be dry and cold on Tuesday in the city with a chance of snow showers on Wednesday.  The outlook for the next week is for continued colder than normal temperatures for the Northeast.
