Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain and Rain on Saturday for New York City with Heavy Snow in Coastal New England...
The first significant winter storm of 2015 for New York City will begin late tonight as snow moves in the from the south. Low pressure will intensity and move quickly to the northeast spreading snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain across the area. Up to 2 to 5 inches of snow is forecast with the highest amounts across interior northeastern Connecticut, the Lower Hudson Valley and interior northern New Jersey. There will be a changeover to rain and sleet along the coast during the afternoon with some snow likely in the late afternoon and evening as the storm departs. A fast moving clipper may spread light snow to the area on Monday. Cold, Arctic air will follow for most of next week.
