Sandy is Forecast to Move Close to Florida by Friday of This Week...

The forecast track from the National Hurricane Center for Tropical Storm Sandy will bring the storm across Cuba and the Bahamas and very close to the east coast of Florida by Friday.  The storm is now forecast to be pushed out to see by an approaching trough from the Midwest so that it will not directly affect the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.  The complex scenario for a coastal storm that was forecast by earlier GFS runs is presently not on the table as the trough is expected to become negatively tilted but not cutoff by next Tuesday.  Elsewhere, there is a slight risk of severe weather in parts of the Midwest and the Great Lakes on Wednesday.
