Record Snowfall This January in NYC Metro Area...36" in Central Park!

Central Park set a record for January snowfall with 36 inches which is more than the amount of snow we average for the season (22 inches). This morning at 7 AM in Central Park there were 18 inches of snow and ice on the ground...three days ago there was 23 inches on the ground.

Snowfall in Islip, Long Island for the past 5 January's: 34.4" 2011 6.4" 2010 8.9" 2009 0.8" 2008 1.0" 2007.
