Heavy Banding Setting Up from SW Connecticut to Central NJ and NYC...15 to 20" Expected
Radar at 9:30 p.m. continues to show a huge area of snow across New England down into northern Virginia and eastern Pennsylvania. There are heavier bands of snow associated with snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches and possible thunder across southwest CT, NYC, western Long Island and south central New Jersey. These bands will produce heavier snow and inside these bands areas can receive as much as 15 to 20 inches of snow. The storm is about 150 miles south of Long Island. Winds have gusted to 58 mph in Bridgeport, CT and 51 mph at Newark, NJ. Blowing and drifting snow has created blizzard conditions and the Blizzard Warning continues through Monday morning into Monday afternoon. The Viking-Eagle game was postponed until Tuesday night. Look for some sunshine Monday afternoon with snow ending from west to east in the morning.
