BLIZZARD WARNING Continues This Afternoon...The Storm is Strengthening...Snow Intensity Will Increase






As of 11 AM on February 10, 2010, the NWS continues the Blizzard Warning for the entire NYC metro area through 6:00 AM on Thursday. Snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches can be expected with wind gusts to 45 mph that will create blowing and drifting snow.

The storm is developing this afternoon off the coast of Delaware. The pressure at Atlantic City at 11 AM is down to 29.07 inches and the pressure is falling rapidly.

A total of 6 to as much as 12 to 18 inches of snow is forecast for today with the lowest amounts along the Jersey Shore. The highest amounts will occur over interior northern NJ and eastern Pennsylvania.

Power outages and wind damage may also occur along with whiteout conditions.
