Storm Will Graze Tri-State Area on Saturday Evening...

Low pressure is forecast to form over the Southeast states on Friday spreading rain and snow to the north on Saturday to the Mid-Atlantic states. The NAM is forecasting only some clouds for NYC and perhaps some flurries across Long Island. The first map above is the NAM forecast for the surface in 78 hours or 1 AM Sunday morning. The NAM upper-air 500 mb forecast indicates that the trough will dig down to the south and as a result, the storm will track off North Carolina grazing the area. A track 50 or 100 miles farther to the north could result in some light snow in and around the city, southern New Jersey on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.
