Snow Totals from Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the New York City Metro Area...
The storm began as snow during the morning on Saturday and fell heavily at times. The temperature was turning colder during the afternoon and early evening with temperatures dropping to 22 in Central Park and 20 at Newark, NJ by 8 PM. However, after 9 PM, the precipitation changed to sleet and freezing rain and temperatures later warmed from northeast New Jersey southward and across New York City and Long Island later at night. It was raining and 36 degrees in Midtown at 4 AM Sunday morning. The models forecasted the storm track and changeover very well. These are some snowfall totals reported to the NWS:
